who apologized for the treatment I got from them. There’s never been an easier or more affordable way to calibrate the speedometer in your 2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler JK 2WD/4WD model Jeep than Rough Country’s QuickCal Speedometer Calibration Device. ![]() Note-To date I have not received anything from that dept, only from the person I contacted shortly after hours who did not work in that dept. I hope Rough Country will take a good look at this and update their ad and evaluate that dept. It makes me wonder how much information they are manipulating in regards to whether or not this device works, etc. I noticed that my comments under Q&A section were deleted yet thy have 4 comments under the question I stated on March 13/14. One transfered me to the Amazon desk (where I left voicemail) and the other gave me their email and promised me a return label and full refund after I receive the device. I was able to speak to others at Rough Country, however. The seller's Amazon dept would not answer emails or phone calls, though I was able to reach online chat and Kirk confirmed it does NOT work with EcoBoost (I have copy) and told me I had to cancel with that dept. I ordered this on March 13 before reading on another blog that it didn't work with the new EcoBoost engine (2017-2019) as it is a 10 speed transmission. The truck cruises down the highway and accelerates much better now - this unit is a must have. I guess it's takes a bit of trial and error in some cases - but switching the tire sizes and reprogramming is really easy. I tried plugging mine in right out of the box and it didn't work - but works perfectly now that I set it up for the 5.0 liter.įor whatever reason, the 34" setting calibrates my speedo perfectly - even though my tires are 35's. This is because the Ecoboost engines have different programming and you need to configure the unit properly for your application. This RC calibration unit solved both issues.Ī few notes: When you first purchase the unit, you will need to hook up the USB and download the software updater from RC's website. Also, the truck kept downshifting from 6th to 5th gear because the RPMs were too low. When the GPS registered 75 the speedo was showing 67-68 mph. I changed from 275/55/R20's to 275/65/R20's.Īfter putting a 6" suspension lift and 35's on my F150 I noticed the speedometer was off compared to my GPS. I tested at all speeds up to 75 MPH and all results matched my GPS speed whereas before the calibration I was seeing a 4 mph differential based on the larger tires. 25 inches so pick the closest input option to your actual measurement of tire diameter). I measured them using the method I described and I got 33.25 inches (the calibrator only allows changes in increments of. For example: My tires were listed as 34.01 inches diameter. Use this measurement as an input to the calibrator. Take a level, place it on top of your tire on a level surface and measure from ground to level placed on top of your tire. TIP: Don't use the diameter given by the tire manufacturer. This device is worth the price based on its performance. BTW.the Ford Dealership and 3 other car repair establishments said they couldn't do it with their equipment. In about 45 minutes from unboxing to calibration I had a speedometer reading that was dead on. ![]() I downloaded firmware update out of the box then connected the calibrator to my 2017 Ford F150 2.7L V6 and followed the instructions. However the device and all parts were intact and in good condition. Packaging was a little suspect with box not sealed upon arrival.
